Prometheus Chamber by RadoJavor Prometheus Chamber by RadoJavor
Third picture inspired by the movie Prometheus, which is still mystery regarding the plot and story. This time something darker as the Halloween is near. My idea was a scene when the explorers from earth discovered central chamber of the space jockey alien race, they are wondering what is the purpose of it and what happened.

Now its a trilogy of my concepts for this movie, my plan is to make one more at least. All done in photoshop and wacom intuos.

Really good! Though I thought it could've been way better, I still think it did a good job. Whats hard is seeing how much work they put into the film. I thought the ending was a bit lacking though. But ohwell. Maybe they'll be an unrated directors cut sometime soon!

I really like the atmosphere feeling this piece!

Dude....This....Trumps all of the movie. If they had done this the movie would have been block buster sending those smurfs from Avatar back packing. Anyhow I like the movies less gigantic engineer. It make's him more of a character and less godly which the movie tries to point out.
But anyhow the art is spectacular. It could be very well taken as concept for dr Shaw and David adventure's in search of the home planet of out engineering friends :)

Well prometheus was utter shit and completely insulted the mystery and original creativity surrounding this species of alien. I will never consider prometheus to be tied to the Alien franchise ever but just a fanmade movie, which is what the plot reminded me of since it wasn't original at all or made any reasonable or even sci/fi sense.

Your amazing piece here is awesome in true sense of the word. This one image captures the true feeling anyone gets from watching the original film and at Giger's design. Your piece blows that worthless movie out of the water.

This species has been in other Alien related stories and books which they are presented as being true "alien" and not being some pathetic overused human engineerist(new word haha).

Dude you should have worked on the film instead of the other crack pot artists and shitty story writers

Exactly, what all true Alien fans wanted was real sci/fi and discovery. Even all the action scenes and or snuff scenes were all forced and had no good build up to them.

Even all the subtle notes to the Alien series have no character.

To me it was a huge miss opportunity, there were so many ways you could have gone with this film and it just wasn't very original. It felt like they took the easy way out instead of taking risks and truly pushing the envelope.

Don't mind the argument me and the little boy had, he just got offended that I didn't like his most favorite film.

Alright first, what part did that guy work on? Or was his stuff shafted? Well obviously you have no taste in films, and are stuck in that modern day film approach where you consider something just less shitty then the next film absolute genius. Can you please inform me what was so great and outstanding in prometheus or about it's obviously flawless story? Tell me about the amazing cast(Fassbender was the only good actor and had the best character in the film) and everything about those memorable great characters that people will discuss for years to come. Explain to me the brilliance of the scientists in this film and about their great scientific approach on their first contact/archeological mission. Indulge me about the scientists rational thought and common sense they used while coming into contact with an alien structure, the environment, strange alien technology, strange lifeforms, and obviously ominous warnings. Tell me the depth of discussion with the film's strong point of abrahamic religion vs science aspect of the film. Tell me about the wondrous design of the Space Pilots and their mystery background. Tell me why they didn't let us have subtitles to see what David asked the Pilot. Wasn't it smart when the scientist approached that hostile penis alien creature that had acid blood for no reason. Wasn't that alien black goo original and cool uh-HUUH cough X-Files cough. Remember when the Xenomorphs were created because a human had a black alien mutagen in him then he fucked his annoying retarded weak willed then almost invincible scientist girlfriend who cannot give anyone a simple fact or evidence that the aliens made us or anything she believes in and then she had an intense invasive surgery where she stabbed herself with random huge syringes then gets the operation done in charlize's surgical unit that is programmed for dudes when she is a girl(maybe shes one of genetic mutated chicks with a dick ha)then it doesn't knock her out and then slices her open and she rips the alien cord from inside herself gets stapled and is basically fine without going into shock from the pain or dying of internal bleeding. Then that fetus squid creature grows to a enormous size and facefucks the Pilot who survived a crash from the human ship that could have been done by autopilot and the people inside didn't use the lifeboat and escape pods and then the pods didn't go into space but crashed landed and she got killed anti-climatically by the alien vessel. Remember how the pilots created humans then for no reason want to wipe them out even though it has been thousands of years later and the Pilot started wasting everyone for no good reason. Wasn't it cool for some reason the geologist came back all fucked up and his suit was bullet proof. Or how the geologist had the map maker robot scanners that mapped the whole installation and he has the map on his wrest and the ship itself has an active map that both could have helped him not get lost with a Steve Irwin wannabe. Tell me why these 15 or so foot aliens are 100% human and no variance at all. Why didn't this science vessel have fail safe measures in the incident that the situation that happened wouldn't have happened. If they had pistols, rifles, and flamethrowers why didn't they bring them with them like a sane group of people on a first contact would have done. Where was the large security team that would have prevented this undersized crew of 17 to fuck up so much. Isn't it funny how in Star Trek that the Enterprise a science vessel/First contact/diplomat ship is armed extremely well for when something arises during a first contact with alien life they can protect and destroy the threat if there is one. Remember how they didn't link Alien and prometheus well at all, with an unsatisfying bullshit origin of the xenos yet the Space Pilot ship in Alien has thousands of xeno eggs that are all the same and have no black goo swarming around them. Remember how this movie blatantly told us they will have a sequel, when Alien could have been a standalone film and Aliens could have been the last in the series.

Tell me oh brilliant one why prometheus is a smash hit and should go in the record books for being a groundbreaking film.

Wait maybe you can't because it is a nice looking film that is absolute shit. Like a super model that is a fucking asshole, but hell she looks pretty so she must be amazing and we all should love her.

What a liberal you are haha but alright, and yes prometheus is on par with Pirahna 2 hell piranha was more enjoyable. Remember tool, shit filmed well is still a piece of shit. It seems you are also easily offended by non politically correct remarks but I will answer your prometheus stuff first then Alien. [The best part all my answers and responses is you will dismiss them because you are so smug and stuck-up]

No shit the lifeboat was probably for Weyland, it was obvious at the beginning of the movie that he would be on the ship or would come into play later. They wouldn't even have showed him at all if he wasn't going to make en entrance. Vicka was hiding info the whole time, pretty self evident. Prmetheus was overly simple with no reason behind anything. What we got from the Pilot talking to David was "why did you create humans, or what will you do now, or something along the lines" perhaps he told them what as all happened. And the pilot said then I will finish what we started to do and then wiped them out. Subtitles would have been nice, because I was curious what the thing had to say, obviously you do not like foreign films with subtitles, I don't mind them. Ever seen the original german version of Valkyrie, it's very good(better then that tom cruise piece of shit).

Now keep in mind that the crew of the Nostromo were not fully funded scientists, explores, trained in first contact and were not combat worthy whatsoever. They were no way expecting to be forced to visit the planet until ash told them too. They are a towing spaceship crew, hell all they really do was haul stuff back and forth. They had one science officer who we found out to be an android created by the WY and everything was preplanned for the crew to be wasted and him survive. Remember that they were taken off course and Ash could have been reprogrammed through the Mother AI or when ever they were last at dock.

Actually I really love Alien and I will defeat your pathetic attempts to hide your hatred for the film. I love every part of Alien and all the mystery that has spawned comics, books and some coo, games. You say plot holes, I say cool creative mysteries that have logical answers too, unlike prometheus which has no logic at all. You do understand that visuals can tell a story as well. The visuals of prometheus said, a well designed ship(or so we thought). An abandon vessel and facility with dark past, the mural in the room with containers showed us the Alien(xenomorph) humans and the Pilots, the whole mood inside the ship was ominous and no shit cause we all have seen it before and know it isn't safe. Maybe Shaw survived cause the alien fetus mutated her. Do you seriously think it is cool that the xenos came forth due to the mixing of human/black goo/human(since obviously the not over 10 foot beings are 100% human) dna? You wouldn't think it would be cooler that they have a terrestrial homeworld and the pilots studied on them like you can conclude in Alien. See that is cool mystery you can get behind. Not pull-out-of-your-ass ideas that the pilots are human, absolutely gay.

Like I have already said countless times, there is a difference between simple explainable items(like the pod not being her's, David being programmed to do what he did, the none sentient lifeforms being hostile, Vicka's burning that annoying guy, the silicon storm messing with equipment[the storm could have been a fail safe to trespasser], etc etc) and stuff that they pulled out of their ass and did thinks who no common fucking sense(pilots being 100% human, taking your helmet off on a breathable alien planet that could have deadly bacteria in the air, the map maker getting lost even though he has the map, a scientist approaching a hostile alien like steve irwin, being sad that you made the greatest discovery in history, not taking weapons with you), Prometheus took stupidity to another level like a shitty slasher films. You wanna know why I love having every detail and fact? Have you ever read a novel or gone to any science/math class at all? Don't you have a thirst for facts and the answers to everything or do you just take things by "faith" like that dumb bitch shaw, who was proven 100% wrong about what she believes but continues too because she is too damn stubborn to accept fact? Always ask why and never stop until you know it all, even if the information is impossible to obtain you never stop reaching for it. But obviously you stopped long ago

Now answers in order:

1: Kane. The crew doesn't have weapons and why would they be expected to carry any when, the three who went to the ship were ordered to go in and investigate, Kane went down not expecting to see fields of things. He couldn't have known what he saw were eggs, they could have been alien devices or energy pods, or simple containers, anything. He had no idea he tripped the protective field and remember he accidentally fell past the field. Human curiosity caught the better of him but how would he have known an alien facehugging being would have been in there, that is right he wouldn't have. You seem to forget people do silly things, but there is a difference between, "what is in this thing? I will take a small look" and "oh hey, there is this 6 foot serpent that obviously looks hostile im gonna touch it cause snakes on earth don't attack when touched" This scene shows what happens when our curiosity gets the better of us when it is completely unknown. The audience can jump to a conclusion but in the real world who knows what those things could have been.

2: Brett. Brett himself isn't the most logical guy, he works in engineering as maintenance and could care less about shit. When we last saw the alien it was about the size of your average snake, no human on the crew knew that this thing would grew to such monstrous size. Yes the thing has acidic blood but he wasn't searching for the alien but the cat. He went to the refinery part of their pull not expecting to that a small alien lifeform would be willing to attack a much larger animal but would rather hide and stay safe, reason it ran when it burst through. Let us say there was a snake loose on a ship, would you be so terrified of it or would you go "if I see it I will kick, stomp, hit it or what have you" You seem to think that the human crew knows what they are dealing with. Brett fell pray to his lack of caring or taking anything seriously except his pay check and perhaps a smoke.

3. Dallas. Fell pray to his emotions getting ahold of him due to his crew dieing and he wanted to be the tough strong leader and get the alien. A flame weapon is a weapon none the less and Ash developed the motion tracker device so they could be able to warn the man. Once again, only Ash knows a thing about this creature so Dallas gets over confident, and then nervous. He went alone so only himself would be in danger, wanting the crew to stay together out of harms way. Like I said, he let emotions take over. Adrenaline, fear and being in a leadership position does things to people under tough situations.

4: The lifeboat. Are we ever told how many life boats there are? We can assume that it has more then one which each itself enough cryotubs. Why not have so many cryotubes onboard, simple, if the lifeboat is also the power supply to these tubs, then having too many would overload the system to start draining the system of power. We can assume that these lifeboats are also built cheap by WY because they want to save money, hell their crews are expendable so why give them perfect equipment.

5: Ripley. Why didn't they listen to Ripley, you obviously watched the film and it explains it right there. Ash who has been programed by the company and purposely placed on the Nostromo wants the damn thing on board to get it back to WY. They didn't want Kane on board, Dallas and Lambert have both been traumatized and are not thinking correctly hence why they do not follow procedures. Ripley thinking normally denies them access but Ash oversteps because his prime directive is the well being of the alien. Parker and Brett agree with Ripley but they are not in charge, once Dallas is back aboard he is in command and Ripley is only second. Bad decisions in a terrible situation, pretty common.

6: Ash and the Company(Weyland/Yutani perhaps) Why is Ash on board, and why did the company waste their time with a towing crew instead of a fill capable containment crew. Here are a few possibility I have thought of over the years: A. From the beginning of their trip the Company planned to have them expanded to get the alien, Ash was placed specifically on the ship to appear human and gain the trust of the crew to lure them in. Don't forget that the Mother AI is also owned by the company and diverted course specifically to LV-426, this whole trip was death from the beginning. B. Last time they were docked at a port before heading home, Mother and Ash could have been given new directives while on shore leave before heading back out. A WY agent could have been there in disguise and added the new mission statement in while the rest of the crew was out and about, remember the crew doesn't suspect or know anything they are a simple towing crew. Or the agent was told if any ship is heading near the system LV-426 is in to go and get the thing. Maybe all WY crews have androids purposely on board to monitor crews and look for anything of value to them, that is more believable then a 15ft being being 100% human. We do not know if the Mother AIs are attached to wireless servers, maybe the company as remote satellites set up that are very small that can issue directives whenever. And when the company noticed the Nostromo was in proximity to LV-426 they sent the new mission objectives to Mother and then perhaps Ash has wireless connections to the Company as well. Once again all of these are cool mysteries that let our minds run. Not like the step back in awe of how bullshit it all is in prometheus. Why not send a specific crew to get one of these aliens? Why waste your talented employs when you can snuff out a towing crew with no one of value on board(except if the alien is in them), the containment crew would get the alien after the crew had been disposed of.

7: Self-Destruct. Why cannot they remotely self-destruct the ship, why would you want someone to have that much power at the tips of their fingers, why would you want software to fail or hardware and the ship would blow due to an accident with the computer code. Self destruct should always been a vigorous task so no joe shmoe can take out an entire ship. Also think about what I said before, why would the Company waste so much money on simple to use remotes when they can skimp out and save money, hell they are wasting their crew so no more paychecks for them. They company always must have programmed the ships self-destruct for a shorter time to screw the crew over encase the killed the alien somehow. Who knows, maybe Ash would have killed them all in that instance. In the whole alien universe we do not know of any other hostile alien species in conflict with humanity and we do not know how far humanity has spread throughout the stars and if there are splinter groups, planets or pirate teams. Self destruct system on a towing ship seems a waste of money unless there were dangerous conflicts going on that time, like an enemy stealing resources and you detonate the ship to squander their efforts.

8: Parker. Why not freeze him? going back to Ash and the company, they do not give a shit about the crew hence why Ash didn't follow procedures and let the alien grow as he observed it. Dallas was also being influenced by Ash aswell, once again Trust among the crew.

Prometheus was below Transformers, you can at least be distracted by moving machinery that talk and explode not annoying fucking characters and a less imaginative story.

xenomorph (lit. "alien form"—from Greek xeno- or "strange" and -morph, shape) <- term makes sense, but I will give you the benefit of the doubt that you are a liberal and hate facts and logic.

Maybe you should rethink your life and stop defending movies that are absolute shit in everyway. Everyone on this film crew is to blame, from Scott to every artist/writer. Scott himself didn't care much about the film since he is doing Blade Runner 2 soon and the prometheus sequel will probably not even be him. Watch interviews with the man and you can tell he doesn't care much about how the story was or anything, he filmed it got his money and is on to another film. He didn't hold onto his promise he said in the Alien Special Edition DvD extras at all, this film is trash.

Aliens was amazing, so go fuck yourself faggot

I cannot wait to the unspeakable tragedy of your weak ass defense is only a fleeting memory in the halls of the internet. A grain of sand in the desert.

I hope you die in the most embarrassing way possible

I agree with you my friend, my brother and I were starting to be confused weither we are the only ones that thought the movie was not good, great visuals, everything else was done so poorly, could name many things. It can only be set aside, Giger did not work on it at all, the works that :iconradojavor: should have been seen in my opinion.

I am glad they tried and even thought of doing another film but all this movie really was was for Scott and others to make money instead of telling an engaging and discussion worthy tale.

Remember some of the great sci/fi shorts from The Outer Limits and the Twilight Zone, many of those were worth to be full length films.

My own idea for prometheus(needs a better name) would have started with a Weyland Yutani deep space probe picking up singles and readings from a planet(lets say the one in the movie). They scans could have shown a science facility with docking areas. These initial scans would have only gotten surface and a few underground structures but not the whole picture. The science vessel and her team would know almost absolutely nothing about the place they were going to expect that scans have shown some signals and a few structures. The science team and their escort would have investigated the Space Pilot facility believing it to be abandoned(they could find status chambers with many different alien species, and other equipment leading the crew to theorize them as being scientists and explores. We would even see some of the alien eggs in one of the status chambers) Unnoticed to the science crew, the Space pilots would have been in their ships at another site, even doing test on LV-426 so it can link Alien but without us seeing the planet again until end. The Pilots would then get a message from that their station had intruders inside it. Curious about another alien species they would travel back to the planet with the science team to study and watch whoever is there. The audience wouldn't see any of this of course. When I saw the original Alien and read several of the books that had the pilots in them, they would be truly alien and not human at all, the only similarly between us and them would be that they are bipedal. The aliens would look like they are in alien, odd shaped eyes, long trunk in the front, very tall perhaps about 18 to 20 feet judging by the size of the one pilot in Alien. In a few Alien novels they describe them as hovering off the ground, communicating telepathically and being able to manipulate ones mind. I can also see them being very quiet, contrast to their size, and the hovering would fit well with that. These being should look very alien and act alien, not truly understanding the humans and would terrify us if we came face to face. Now as the pilot's ships return, they should come in with perfect silence. After the pilots returned, the second act of the film should be them studying the humans. Always in the darkness and the shadows, moving almost with perfect silence. The pilots would then use their telepathic abilities to see the human reaction to different emotions and false events preceding around them. Some humans would go insane while others would see this and that. Then the humans would have discovered the pilot's ship and they would have captured a few humans for study and put them in the status chambers for further study. After the science team has battle and fought with the pilots, the ill-fated Pilot ship in Alien would come into play as some of the human scientists make their way to the hanger and investigate their ships. As they are exploring the ship a pilot attacks them trying to capture them. The humans discover the egg chamber and similar to the original movie, accidentally set off the fail safe which would open the field or plate over the alien eggs. A few of the eggs should open with one of the human scientists being face hugged and him being carried out by his/her friends. The other face hugger would have hidden and would attack the pilot of that ship later as he is heading towards LV-426. After all the mayhem with the pilots, their test subjects and even the terrestrial wildlife/weather the surviving human science crew with the facehugged would head back to their ship. And would then narrowly escape to the nearest Weyland Yutani post. Or the guy could have had the chestburster come out earlier when they saw the Pilots experimenting the alien with the humans. and seeing what kind of damage and conditions a human xeno could withstand. (I actually like that one better) After they witness and record the test, they would then escape from the ship with the alien eggs on it and away from everything else then would show their findings to the next weyland yutani people(agent or what have you). As the pilot heads toward Lv-426 he would have been face hugged which would explain the crash and the chestburster hole that we see in Alien. The human ship would also track the pilot ship to LV-426 and would have witness it crash from a distance on their scanners. This story would explain how the company knew of the alien and its capabilities, how they knew where the pilot ship was and its cargo. After the credits, having it been a couple or so later, we would see the Nostromo near the system where LV-426 is. Since space travel takes along time with hypersleep chambers, the Nostromo would have been the closest Weyland Yutani ship in the vicinity and since it is a simple towing crew they would have sent the directive to the Mother AI to redirect course towards it. We can assume that the Mother AI and Ash both have wireless links to the company within them, we can also assume from their that androids are place on company ships secretly to observe the crew and get to know them personally so they can manipulate them. We could also assume that the Mother AI and Ash could have gotten new directives last time they where at dock and their flight schedule nailed them as being the closest to the planet and were the most expendable.

a very rough story idea but you can expand on many ideas I have here and take them in crazy directions that keep the audience guessing instead of laughing.
