The Halloween is near and I'm starting to think about some new paintings. Its a long tradition for me so I want to do another this year. If you got some really good idea involving colonial america and pumpkins, you can let me know. Didn't do any new pictures, was really busy with finishing rome II game and fixing my old motorbike.

Do you do commissions or are you busy with large contracted projects?

I really liked your 50's inspired work golden age . Perhaps something like that? Deserted suburb with halloween pumpkins and stuff outside one house.

Hmm, I mean maybe some child's rendition of the old "headless horseman" myth? I mean, I'm sure it's been done dozens of times before, but I think it would be pretty fun to work on.

Here's a suggestion.

Maybe a witch being burning at the stake at night.

Villagers with pitchforks and torches surrounding a large bonfire with a tall stake in the center of a high mound of wood. The witch of course is tied to the stake. If you want to get creative or supernatural, the witch could have gotten free of her bonds and an is summoning spirits or something else to help her.

Whatever you do the Halloween picture on, I'll look forward to seeing it.

that's too cruel, don't want to show any burning people.

No, I wasn't thinking about showing somebody getting burned.  Didn't want you to create a gory picture.  I was more or less thinking that they were in the process of lighting the high mound of wood.  I didn't describe that very well.  Oh well.

I do like the idea that Chrispy92 came up with in the comment below.  Perhaps an Native American spirit dance.  Ghost of coyotes, ravens, bears, surrounding the dance.

If not, hopefully somebody will come up with a good idea for you.

How about one involving the native Americans? You said those pumpkin... constructs were created by them right? Perhaps something involving the pumpkin things at their village.

Ah. Perhaps... something during a different time period in colonial America? Maybe during the early 1700's or the Revolution?

I am looking forward to your Halloween picture.  Perhaps you could show an old Halloween party with carved pumpkins in the background- or foreground.  Perhaps old old New York with Jack o Lanterns.

hmm...why not an Ichabod Crane deal, where there's the covered bridge and the headless horseman on one end of it, holding a pumpkin in one hand, with licks of flame coming from the carvings and Ichabod is on his horse fleeing from the other side, riding towards the viewer.  The inside of the bridge can have more carved pumpkins, and outside of the bridge you see some farmland, a colonial house, rows of stacked corn stalks in cone shapes.

I dunno how to make that work, but it's the first thing that came to mind.

Sure, that's the point.  It's generally considered a part of Halloween culture.  Or at least it is around here.

I love this tradition of yours, some of my favorite artwork is your Colonial America/Halloween inspired art. Try to go for a bit haunted maybe, maple foliage, jack-o-lanterns, old houses, maybe a field, heavy fog. Whatever you decide, I just hope that you'll do more than one this year. 2-3, even 4 sounds a lot better.

Well, Halloween is a Celtic tradition, so maybe something about the Scots-Irish settlers of Appalachia?

Alright, cool. Looking forward to whatever you do. Maybe you could make/paint a pumpkin for each of the original thirteen states? I don't know, lol.
